Zeba Bakhtiar Biography

Zeba Bakhtiar is a Pakistani Film/Television actress and director, of Hungarian and Pashtun-Pakistani descent. She is the daughter of Yahya Bakhtiar, a prominent bureaucrat from Quetta and former Attorney General of Pakistan. Zeba made her television debut with a PTV (Karachi centre) play, Anarkali, a sad love story.
Her performance in the TV play Anarkali won her critical acclaim in Pakistan's entertainment world. The role of Anarkali helped prepare her for her wide screen debut with the hit movie Henna, (1991), produced by the Raj Kapoor banner in India. The movie was directed by Randhir Kapoor. Her work in Henna was widely appreciated, but it was her performance in the Pakistani film Sargam (1995) that won her the prestigious Nigar Award in Pakistan.
Zeba also gave excellent performances in the movies Mohabbat Ki Arzoo (1994), Stuntman (1994), Jai Vikraanta (1995), Muqadama (1996), Chief Sahib (1996), Qaid (1996) and Babu (2001). She proved herself an accomplished director in her directorial-debut movie, Babu, in 2001. Apart from movies, Zeba often took starring roles in major television serials, in which she brought new levels of intensity with her performances. For instance, in Laag she gave a memorable performance as the leader of the 'Kashmiri Independence Movement'. Her portrayal of a handicapped girl in Pehli See Mohabbat was just mind-boggling; likewise her performances in Lollywood films Kundi and Sangam.
Zeba was married to singer Adnan Sami but later separated. She now lives in Karachi, with her son Azaan, and continues to direct and produce television serials.

Personal Quotes
"People tell me I look hotter than what I did in 'Qayamat'. It wouldn't be wrong to say I have great expectations from my back".
Never give up on something, because then that proves to be your weakness.
I knew what I always wanted in life, it takes a while but you can get it.
I always want to look different in every movie.
Life beyond movies is a lot to me. My family, my friends, fitness, my music, books - just a combination of things I am very passionate about.
When asked by a journalist why she ventured into Pakistani cinema instead of Hollywood, stating that Pakistani cinema was still backward, Neha replied: "It is wrong on your part to think that way. They are looking forward and trying to improve. Today, Bollywood is what Hollywood was like in the 1920s. They are trying to work hard and improve it."
"Julie (2004) of course was a big film for me, and gave me a lot of mileage and furthered my career. But as it happens when a kind of film is a success, I got offered many other films like that and didn't want to get stuck in the rut. It's like if you've done it now, what more is there to offer and show? But that doesn't mean I am not going to do anything glamorous and cover myself from head to toe. I believe boldness should reflect through your character and not how much clothes you shed." (Stardust magazine, September 2006)

Ileana D'Cruz

ileana d'Cruz Biography

Age: 25 Years
Birthday: 1st November, 1987
Zodiac: Scorpio
Marital Status: Single
Awards: Ileana D’Cruz won her first Filmfare Best Debut Female award in 2006 for her film Devadasu. Thereafter, she also won the Santosham Best Actress Award and South Scope Style Award for Best Actress for her performance in 2008 film Jalsa, for which she received a Filmfare nomination in Telugu category as well.
Trivia: An already established actress in Telugu films down south, and a newbie in the Hindi film industry, Ileana D’Cruz is the latest addition to the “To-Watch-Out-For” list of new entrants in Bollywood. The model-turned-actress will make her Bolly debut in Anurag Basu’s film “Barfi!”
Biography: A simple girl born in Mumbai and brought up for some years in Goa, Ileana D’Cruz is the second of four children of parents Ronaldo and Samira. She has an elder sister named Farrah, a younger brother named Rhys and a younger sister named Eileen.
While she was in Goa, a hotel manager coaxed her into taking up modeling as a career and even introduced her to model-actor-ramp choreographer Marc Robinson. Ileana regards her first portfolio as a disaster, yet she landed into ramp shows and photo shoots. Gradually, thanks to her second portfolio, she grabbed ads for established brands like Emami Talc, Electrolux and Fair & Lovely. The latter ad was directed by Rakesh Roshan, thus opening up vistas for her for acting in films.
Ileana debuted in 2006 in a Telugu romantic film named ‘Devadasu’, for which she took acting lessons from Aruna Bhikshu. Her performance in the film was much appreciated and she was also noticed for amazing figure and sexy legs. The film grossed around 14 crores and the heroine received the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut (Telugu).
Her next film, Pokiri, opposite Mahesh Babu, was also a smash hit success and became the highest grossing Telugu film at that time. However, after this film, her career graph experienced a low, with four subsequent films being commercial failures. Things took a better turn for her, with films like ‘Aata’ and ‘Jalsa’ doing pretty well at the box office. The latter not only brought in some good money, but also earned her prestigious awards and nominations for her performance.
Prior to her failures with ‘Rechipo’ and ‘Saleem’ in 2009, she starred in ‘Kick’, which became among the highest grossing films of the year. The actress again collaborated with her ‘Pokiri’ director Puri Jagannadh, and appeared in his film ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’, in which her acting and looks were much praised.
Ileana’s second Tamil film ‘Nanban’ was a remake of 3 Idiots, and she played the role performed by Kareena Kapoor. Much like its Bollywood counterpart, the Tamil version also became quite successful both commercially and critically. As of now, the actress is awaiting the release of her first Hindi film, Barfi!, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. She plays the role of a narrator and Ranbir’s first love interest in the film.
The ‘Miss Sexy Legs’ will also be seen in Puri Jagannadh’s next venture ‘Devudu Chesina Manushulu’ where the heroine will be essaying the character of a taxi driver. Her second Bolly film ‘Phata Poster Nikla Hero’ will be a romantic comedy, starring Shahid Kapoor, and is expected to release in 2013.
She is already a star down south, but will she manage to do the same in the Hindi film industry? Wait and watch out for her.

Personal Quotes
Dad was never the strict person. Mom was the disciplinarian. When it came to our parents leaving us to school, I always hoped it would be dad and not mom, because mom gave us just that exact amount of money while dad used to willingly throw in an extra note or two in our pockets. Those are the moments I remember dad very very fondly.
On crossover cinema: "Everybody's into crossover cinema. The roles that an actress can have are more varied today than ever before. There are so many other languages that one could do a film in. I mean, I'd personally love to do an Indo-American film, which is so much of a trend today with 'Monsoon Wedding' and 'Bend it like Bekham' making it big. I had a script on the lines of a Hindu-Muslim love story from London. But since I didn't have dates at the time, it didn't work out. But I'm keen on working on such subjects alongside commercial films".(Stardust magazine, January 2003)
"There are so many talented actors today in the industry. There are 40 people who are not working in the top production houses of our country, but that does not mean they are not good actors. I feel if they need me they will call me. So it is better to wait rather than rue." (November 29, 2005)
